Our Tofu Formula is designed for municipal sewer systems only. NOT septic-safe without a professional sewer-line assessment. Some municipalities (parts of CA, WA, OR, IL) prohibit flushing cat waste regardless of litter type due to Toxoplasma gondii concerns — check your local sewer code first. Flush one clump at a time, never the whole tray. Cassava-based formulas (House Blend, Cassava Formula) are not flushable under any circumstances.

Substantiation:Biodegradation testing per ASTM D6400 is in progress — results expected Q3 2026. Until then, “biodegradable” on our pages describes the plant-fiber raw material, not a certified end-of-life behavior claim. For our current third-party lab results, see the Lab Testing page.
