The short answer
We do not sell or share your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We have not done so in the preceding 12 months and have no plans to.
1. What “sell” and “share” mean here
Under CCPA / CPRA, “sell” means disclosing personal information to a third party in exchange for money or other valuable consideration. “Share” means disclosing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for money.
RootPurr does neither. We do not run advertising-tracker cookies, we do not feed an ad network, we do not exchange customer data for affiliate or referral compensation, and we do not include customer lists in any data-broker product.
2. Who we do share data with (and why)
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to operate the business, under contracts that prohibit them from using the data for their own purposes:
- Stripe · payment processing for retail orders
- Resend · transactional and newsletter email delivery
- Vercel · site hosting and request logs
- Our 3PL warehouse partner in central Pennsylvania · order fulfillment
- Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) · delivery
- Law enforcement · only when compelled by valid US legal process
None of these constitute a “sale” or “share” under CCPA / CPRA because the data is processed strictly to deliver the service you requested.
3. Your right to opt out (even though we don't sell)
California residents have the right to direct a business not to sell or share their personal information. To exercise that right with us — or any of the other CCPA / CPRA rights (access, deletion, correction, portability, limit use of sensitive information) — email hello@rootpurr.com with the subject line “CCPA request”.
We will verify your request using the email on file (and, if the request concerns a retail order, the order number or shipping ZIP). We respond within 45 days as required by Cal. Civ. Code §1798.130(a)(2).
4. Authorized agents
If you wish to use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, the agent must send a written authorization signed by you, plus proof of their own identity. Email the same address above.
5. No discrimination
We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any CCPA / CPRA right. Per Cal. Civ. Code §1798.125.
6. Categories of personal information collected
For full detail see our Privacy Policy. In summary, we collect: identifiers (name, email, postal address), commercial information (orders, returns), internet activity (IP address, request logs), and inference data sufficient to recommend the right SKU. We do not collect biometric data, geolocation data more precise than ZIP, or sensitive personal information beyond payment-tokenized cards.
7. When this notice was last reviewed
This page is reviewed at least once every 12 months as required by Cal. Civ. Code §1798.135(a)(2). Current review date: May 16, 2026.
